On May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., a Historic Marker Dedication Ceremony entitled “Resilience Amid Resistance” will be held at the United States Federal District Courthouse in Harrisonburg, Virginia commemorating the first cases to implement the Brown v. Board of Education decision in Virginia and the ensuing fight against Virginia’s “Massive Resistance” to school integration. Immediately following the ceremony and marker dedication, the Rocktown History Museum will host the opening of a companion exhibition.
